Overcoming Unbelief part 2

By March 21, 2013 Sermon Notes

As we are overcoming areas of unbelief in our life we will be challenged. This is a fight and I’m
fighting to win!!!

1 Peter 3:15-16. 15 Instead, you must worship Christ as Lord of your life. And if someone asks
about your Christian hope, always be ready to (DEFEND) explain it. 16 But do this in a gentle
and respectful way. Keep your conscience clear. Then if people speak against you, they will be
ashamed when they see what a good life you live because you belong to Christ.
– Sometime people will challenge our hope, but we have to stand firm and be ready to
defend the hope God has placed in us;
– My hope is not in man or things of this world, but it’s in God. You may not understand it,
but it is what it is.

Mark 3:27. “No one can enter a strong man’s house and plunder his goods, unless he first binds
the strong man, and then he will plunder his house”

In fact, no one can enter a strong man’s house and carry off his possessions unless he first ties
up the strong man. Then he can rob his house.
-Every believer has the right to use the authority of Jesus’ name to bind and take authority over
Satan’s activities.
Are you ready to bind the devil and take back what he stole from you?
The devil is strong but not stronger then you are.

Mark 16:17 “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out
demons; they will speak with new tongues, they will pick up snakes with their hands, and when
they drink deadly poison it will not hurt them at all”

-Issue a spoken command to the devil that he is bound and must leave the stronghold!
-It’s time to change the tongue we speak in…
-Exercising authority in the name of Jesus will expel the influence of the devil.

Matthew 17:19,21 “Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast
him out? However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting”
Mark 9:28, 29 also covers the same story.
-Come together with other believers to pray and intercede against strongholds until you get
-There is power in the gathering of more believers.
– Prayer with fasting intensifies faith, and faith will break strongholds.

Displacement is to remove something from it’s place and replace it with something else.

2 Corinthians 6:14 “For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what
communion has light with darkness ?”

Steps to displace the devil
-Establish the presence of God.
-Where the devil has been commanded to leave, fill it up with God’s presence.
-Where the presence of the Lord is, the devil isn’t, and won’t want to hang around where
people are lifting up Jesus in worship, in singing and prayer.
-The presence of the Lord displaces the attack by the devil on our lives
