Hold Me Up

By June 28, 2012 Sermon Notes

We Can do this Together !!!
In these times we must stick together.
It’s hard on a lot of us to walk this walk through this season.
• God has placed a work inside of us and if we are left with no accountable people in our life
that work can be miss-used.
Who are you walking with?

Ecclesiastes 4: 9-12

“Two are better than one, because they have good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up
his companion, but woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up. Again,
if two lie down together, they will keep warm; but how can one be warm alone? Though one may be
overpowered by another, two can withstand him. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

If we fight together we don’t have much to worry about, divided we fall but united we stand!
• HOLD ME UP!!!

Hebrews 10: 24-25.

“And let us consider one another in order to stir love and good works not forsaking the assembling of
ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you
see the Day approaching.”

We need to come together regularly as a Body of Believers.
• As the times we live in get worse, it’s not time to stop coming to church. It’s time to come
more, give more, serve more, pray more….
I have to be about my calling and I need you to hold me up
• HOLD ME UP!!!
We must understand that God is in control, and there is NOTHING He will withhold from His
children

In his purpose there only a few things that God can’t do

1) God can’t be unholy.
And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole
earth is full of his glory!”
—Isaiah 6:3

2) God can’t break a promise.
My covenant I will not break, nor alter the word that has gone out of my lips.
—Psalm 89:34

3) God can’t remember sins He’s promised to forget.
I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions for my own sake; and I will not
remember your sins.
—Isaiah 43:25

4) God can’t make a loser.
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ.
—2 Corinthians 2:14

I have a friend who would say, “God don’t make no junk.”

There are times when we can feel of little worth – God wants us to know that we are

his sacred children and more valuable that anything.

5) God can’t abandon you.
Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your
God, he is the one who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.
—Deuteronomy 31:6

6) God can’t stop thinking about you.
How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I
should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am
still with you.
—Psalm 139:17-18

7) God can’t stop loving you.
Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with loving kindness I have
drawn you.
—Jeremiah 31:3
