July 23. 2011 – His Way is Better

By July 23, 2011 Sermon Notes
The current times makes us look at the world as if they have it better then the body of Christ. Keep the faith. God has a plan for us, and His way is better.Sin takes us farther than we are willing to go, keeps us longer then we are willing to stay, coss us more then we are willing to pay.
It’s just not worth it . . . God’s way is better. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 10That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10

-When I am weak, then I am strong.
I may be weak but His spirit is strong in me!
-I don’t mind being the clay because when He gets done with me, I know I’ll be in my purpose

A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?
Mark 4:37-41

From the disciples’ perspective the circumstances changed for the worse.  Jesus got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.  Jesus talked to the situation.

He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”

Our way tells u,s “it is what it is”, “there is nothing we can do about it”.
God’s way is better. So, speak to the situation and it WILL change…

Are you afraid? We already have the victory
In football, if you play scared, that’s when you get hurt.
God doesn’t see things the way we see them. God wants us to be fearless!

Praise the LORD, O my soul;  all my inmost being, praise his Holy name.
Praise the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits-
who forgives all your sins, and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit ,and crowns you with love and compassion.
Psalm 103:1-4

I watched a pottery video today, and the potter used fire to bake the clay.  If we want to be the clay, we have to put the dirt (of our lives) in God’s hands.  He can process the dirt into clay.

In God’s hands we are safe.
As an example:  in my hands a golf club would be used as a weapon, but in the hand of Tiger Woods it’s a tool used skill-fully to win and produce resources.
In my hands a peanut is a snack , but in the hands of George Washington Carvers it became gasoline ,wax, and 100 other products.
Depending on whose hands it is in determines how it ends up.
Place yourself in God’s hands.  His way is better.
