We are the clay.
8 Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter;
we are all the work of your hand.
-Isaiah 64:8 (NIV)
-God has placed work inside of us, intended to cause us to fullfill our purpose
-We are the work of God, and God is placing a demand on his work.
-The pressure we feel right now is God’s demand for payment on the work He placed inside.
– God wants to see the purpose He created us for to be fulfilled! He places a demand on the work he started in us and we can’t continue to live outside of that purpose.
When people receive the benefit of work. they are placing a demand on the purpose for which the thing was created.
We have the Holy Spirit to give us power to perform our work
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
.-Acts 1:8 (NIV)
-Our work is usually in the area of our gift
Our Gift: is what we do best with the least amount of effort
1-2 God told Jeremiah, “Up on your feet! Go to the potter’s house. When you get there, I’ll tell you what I have to say.” 3-4So I went to the potter’s house, and sure enough, the potter was there, working away at his wheel. Whenever the pot the potter was working on turned out badly, as sometimes happens when you are working with clay, the potter would simply start over and use the same clay to make another pot.
Jeremiah 18:1-2 The Message (MSG)
We are Gods clay. Sometime we turn out as something other than God intended and God has start over on the work He put in us. Like a potter on a wheel, He remolds us into what He desires.
-Remember that clay is nothing but processed dirt, with a little bit of water in it. Just like us DIRT
4And the vessel that he was making from clay was spoiled in the hand of the potter; so he made it over, reworking it into another vessel as it seemed good to the potter to make it.
5-10Then God’s Message came to me: “Can’t I do just as this potter does, people of Israel?” God’s Decree! “Watch this potter. In the same way that this potter works his clay, I work on you, people of Israel. At any moment I may decide to pull up a people or a country by the roots and get rid of them. But if they repent of their wicked lives, I will think twice and start over with them. At another time I might decide to plant a people or country, but if they don’t cooperate and won’t listen to me, I will think again and give up on the plans I had for them.
Jeremiah 18:4-10 Amplified
-Are we ready to be made over? To let God change us into what He wants for us?
-Where His Word is, He is. Where He is, His Works are there. (This is what He meant for us when He said greater works shall we do..)
